Operator wanted to install the tubing deeper into the curve of a horizontal well for an annular gas lift operation than they felt comfortable with while running a traditional packer or without a snubbing unit.

An Atlas Dissolvable Packer™ was installed by wireline at a depth of 11,030’ at 70° deviation and held 3000psi pressure from below. Once tubing was installed, the integral pump-out plug was expended right on the target pinning pressure allowing production to flow through the Atlas™ bore.

By placing the end-of-tubing deeper into the curve, the operator was able to increase drawdown and production by 11% vs. In addition to production improvements, the operator saved money by eliminating costly snubbing services.
